The next
room has a balance of purposeful play and fun education
activities, creating a stimulating day for each child and for
their particular needs. The carefully planned day provides a
wide variety of learning activities that children enjoy,
enabling their confidence, knowledge and understanding to
flourish.
The
foundation stage begins at the age of three, following an early
years curriculum that is based on the six early learning areas.
Gradual preparation makes for a positive transition when the
time comes to start school.
The
planned activities offer opportunities for social interaction,
children enjoy participating in individual and group
discussions. We encourage discussion, giving each child an
important feeling of involvement.
Children
are encouraged to participate in activities, which are
stimulating as well as being full of fun; these include: topics,
group and individual art and craft activities, matching and
sequencing, memory recall games, imaginative play, sand and
water play, group singing and action songs, music and movement,
group and individual story time, construction games and
puzzles. These are some of the activities enjoyed, providing
valuable learning experiences for your children, as well as
aiding in all areas of their development.
Children
have individual assessments and evaluations that record their
progress. Children are encouraged to respect one another,
develop friendships, understand their feelings and feel positive
about themselves, tidy up between activities, share and take
turns and become break time helpers.
When
your child is ready we begin visits to the next age group. The
visits are important ensuring that your child gains confidence
enabling them to enjoy the beginning of the next stage of
progress with a smooth transition into a new group. |
