Introduction

Dear Parent,

May we welcome you to our established award winning nursery company.  Our aim is to provide a high standard of care and education that is enjoyable in a child’s most informative years.

We provide separate class groups for each age and stage of development, starting with the early stage at 2 years, progressing onto the foundation stage between 3-5 years, defined into class groups of 2yrs, 2 ½ yrs, 3-4 yrs and 4-5 yrs.

This class grouping has proven to be extremely beneficial enabling us to individually prepare children for their first years at school.  We have small groups of children in well-equipped and nicely sized rooms.

We are OFSTED inspected for the educational aspect of the nursery curriculum, we have continued to receive successful inspections since they began in 1997.  In addition we are Social Service inspected for the caring aspect of the nursery day, we have continued to receive successful inspections since we began in 1994.

The following is an extract from our recent OFSTED inspection:

How good is the setting?

‘Behaviour is very good and children’s relationships are positive.  Children benefit from good teaching and organisation which provides them with a very firm foundation for their later learning.  Staff have a good secure knowledge and understanding of the early learning goals and translate them well into practise.  There are many strong links, established with parents and carers, and these contribute positively to children’s progress.’

Overall quality of learning

‘The quality of learning is good in all areas, children build on what they already know and extend their skills well. They are keen to learn, have positive attitudes and work well independently.  Children are very well behaved, have good relationships with peers and adults and respond positively to staff’s requests.  They are confident when presented with new activities and concentrate well.  Children show good spoken language skills, they are articulate and use a good range of vocabulary and are developing good questioning skills.  Children participate well in first-hand mathematical activities and enjoy solving mathematical problems.  Children are beginning to investigate and explore well.  Good teaching provides opportunities for all children to progress at their own pace.  Children’s work and records show good progression in all areas of learning.’

We encourage children to express themselves as individuals.  The most important factor is if they are happy, then you as parents will be happy.
